The Georgia Court of Appeals cleared the path to trial for a premises liability case brought against Savannah State University’s Foundation Real Estate Ventures by denying the company’s interlocutory appeal on Friday.

This is significant because the last jury verdict in a premises liability dispute on the property, brought by plaintiff attorney Mark Tate of the Tate Law Group against the company’s counsel, Brian C. Smith of Pereira Kirby Kinsinger & Nguyen, resulted in a $10 million plaintiff’s verdict.
