Getting in early on the next big thing always seems like a no-brainer in retrospect. The 1990s had dot-com companies. The 2000s had tech and social media upstarts. More recently, early Bitcoin investors are seeing returns that dwarf every other asset class. However, for every person who bought a Bitcoin at $10 and held onto it, there are thousands with tales of selling too soon, forgoing fortunes that might have been.

Being an early adopter comes with risks, both initially and along the way until you maybe one day hit it big. That’s a good place to enter the career of Fox Rothschild M&A partner Sean Coyle, an early adopter in cannabis law who has already put together multibillion-dollar deals in the fast-growing industry. And like any early adopter who’s made it this far, Coyle feels his practice has the potential to grow beyond the success he’s already enjoyed in just six years of doing cannabis deals.
