Several lawyers suing over Johnson & Johnson’s aerosol sunscreen are questioning a proposed class action settlement that was reached within months of a July 14 recall of five Aveeno and Neutrogena products.

At the first hearing in the multidistrict litigation on Thursday, at least three plaintiff attorneys raised concerns about their lack of involvement and access to documents pertaining to the settlement, which Johnson & Johnson negotiated with lawyers at Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz in Pensacola, Florida, and Bradley/Grombacher in Westlake Village, California, before any lead counsel was appointed.
