A prospective federal class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of advanced practice registered nurses and physician’s assistants who worked at two Waterbury hospitals and allegedly never received time-and-a-half overtime pay as required by law.

The 23-page lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport against the Hartford-based Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and the Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group Inc. While it’s unclear how many people could be in the class, it would include staff in the neonatal and pediatric units at Waterbury Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.
