Let’s just say Michal Rosenn is a big believer in Kickstarter. She’s backed more than 500 campaigns on the Brooklyn-based crowdfunding website and also happens to be the company’s general counsel.

Rosenn officially took over the job in September 2015 after joining the company in 2012 as deputy general counsel. She worked under Jared Cohen, who was GC and VP of operations, until he left the company in early 2014. After Cohen’s exit, Rosenn was the company’s only lawyer until January, when Candace Martin was hired as Kickstarter’s first commercial counsel. Rosenn spoke with staff reporter Stephanie Forshee. An edited version of their conversation follows.
