Former J. Crew Group general counsel Maria DiLorenzo continues to press on with litigation alleging that the company wrongly fired her after she became disabled, and continues to look for work 16 months after bringing her case.

In her lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, DiLorenzo said she suffered sudden sensorineural hearing loss in June 2020, which rendered her deaf in one ear and caused vertigo. Rather than accommodate her disability, as required by law, she says the company fired her in November 2021 after she complained to the chief operating officer about her treatment.
