Recent signs that federal prosecutors will take a tougher approach to white-collar crime should prompt corporate legal departments to beef up compliance measures, conduct internal audits, and even hire more in-house lawyers. 

That’s according to attorneys who specialize in white-collar defense and corporate investigations, some of whom say the U.S. Department of Justice’s new approach to corporate crime and invigorated focus on certain industries will require in-house counsel to be vigilant.
