Making good on its promise to add more women to its executive ranks, Los Angeles-based talent agency ICM Partners announced that Julia Johnson, a longtime entertainment executive, was tapped to serve as general counsel Monday.

Johnson, currently general counsel of the Agency for the Performing Arts (APA), said in an interview Tuesday that she will begin her role at ICM Partners sometime in November. She will oversee a legal team of eight attorneys and will take over for Rick Levy, who announced he would be leaving the company earlier this year. Levy will continue to consult for ICM Partners into 2021 while pursuing other opportunities, a spokesperson said.
