More than four months after Adobe Systems Inc.’s general counsel Mike Dillon announced his retirement, the San Jose, California-based software company has found a new legal leader—and they didn’t have to look far.

The company announced Monday that Dana Rao, who has served Adobe’s vice president and associate general counsel of intellectual property and litigation since April 2012, has succeeded Dillon as GC, effective immediately.
