Latham & Watkins has hired a corporate partner in Hong Kong.

Ji Liu joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he represented clients in a range of sectors on U.S. and cross-border capital markets deals.

Liu has acted for issuers and underwriters on initial public offerings and debt issues, as well as advising clients on compliance issues and general corporate matters. Last November, he led the Norton Rose Fulbright team advising the Indonesian government on the establishment of a $3 billion sukuk program.

The U.S.-qualified Liu had joined Norton Rose Fulbright as a partner in 2011. Previously, he had worked with Shearman & Sterling in Menlo Park, Calif.
