Clyde & Co
has announced plans to open an office in Beijing.
The new office will be led by energy and infrastructure partner Lynia Lau, who
joined the firm’s Hong Kong office last year
from the former King & Wood, where she was special counsel. Lau, who will be Clyde & Co’s Beijing chief representative, will be accompanied by an associate also relocating from Hong Kong.
The firm said in a statement that the Beijing office will focus on advising Chinese energy and mining companies on outbound transactions in the Middle East, Australia, Africa, and Latin America.
Clyde & Co opened a Shanghai office in 2006, and has 25 lawyers there. The firm also has 37 lawyers in Hong Kong.* Worldwide, Clyde & Co has over 1,400 lawyers.
A previous version of this story misstated the number of lawyers in Clyde & Co’s Shanghai and Hong Kong offices. We regret the error.
