In a bench ruling on Friday, U.S. District Judge Susan Illston in San Francisco barred former acting U.S. Solicitor General Neal Katyal from appearing on behalf of a former AU Optronics executive who was convicted of price-fixing in the LCD market. But Illston conceded, ruefully, that Katyal could still play a role behind the scenes.
