After a stint with Latham & Watkins, one of Kirkland & Ellis’s long-time funds partners is back, marking the latest move in a back-and-forth talent battle between the two top firms over investment funds talent.

Kirkland on Thursday said that New York-based David Sherman, who spent 11 years with the firm before decamping for Latham in May 2022, has returned, with the firm’s leader touting his “substantial experience” and with Sherman himself saying Kirkland has “the most comprehensive and differentiated platform for investment funds in the industry.”
