Amid the departure of several leading Kirkland & Ellis corporate partners heading to Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, Kirkland is wasting no time in bulking up its private credit practice. The law firm is adding Adam Shapiro, a top global banking and private credit partner from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, sources have confirmed.

Shapiro began his legal career at Simpson and had been there ever since. He works on acquisition financing, bank and bridge loan financings, refinancings and other corporate finance transactions, according to his Simpson profile, and the clients he has primarily represented include KKR, Apax Partners and Silver Lake Partners.
