Robert Kindler, global chair of mergers and acquisitions at Morgan Stanley, is leaving the bank to join Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison as a partner who will chair its M&A practice, the law firm said Tuesday.

Kindler is reuniting with Paul Weiss partner Scott Barshay, after both previously practiced together in the M&A department at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Barshay will remain corporate department chair at Paul Weiss. Kindler plans to join Paul Weiss in the fall, after taking the summer off.
