Update, 7/25/14: The second paragraph of this story was amended to include Choong’s new start date at Withers.
U.K. private client boutique Withers is adding a partner in Singapore.
Tax and estate planning specialist Stacy Choong is returning to private practice after four years as a managing director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s wealth advisory team. She will join Withers’ wealth planning practice on Aug. 18.
Choong handles tax planning, structuring and litigation for corporate and high-net-worth clients, while also acting for charities and nonprofits on regulatory and compliance matters. She had joined J.P. Morgan from Rajah & Tann, where she was a partner for two years. Between 2001 and 2008, Choong worked at Drew & Napier, most recently as a director.
Withers will have eight lawyers, including six partners, in Singapore when Choong starts next month. The firm has about 375 lawyers in 11 offices worldwide.
