K&L Gates has added a partner to its Tokyo office.
Philip Hyde, formerly head of the finance practice for Hogan Lovells in Tokyo, focuses on debt capital market, securitization and corporate finance matters. He will also be working part of the time in K&L Gates’ Hong Kong office.
Hyde first joined the former Lovells in 2008 after spending five years as a Tokyo partner with Simmons & Simmons. Before that, he was a counsel with Clifford Chance, which he joined as an associate in London in 1994, relocating to Tokyo three years later.
Earlier this year, K&L Gates recruited two other partners in Tokyo, Takahiro Hoshino and Takahiro Tsumagari.
K&L Gates’ Tokyo office now has 23 lawyers, including 11 partners, according to its website. The firm has about 1,750 lawyers in 48 offices worldwide.
