With a historic $10 million gift, Southern Illinois University School of Law may soon be known as Simmons Law School.

The school announced Monday that John Simmons, SIU Board of Trustees member and founder of the Simmons Hanly Conroy law firm in Alton, Illinois, and his wife, Jayne Simmons, donated the money to the school, which will impact the next generation of law students and “strengthen the law school’s ability to serve its students and the region,” according to the school’s announcement.
