The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit granted summary judgment to the University of Miami in regard to a student’s breach of contract and unjust enrichment claims that she and other students were getting their money’s worth when the school halted in person-education during the pandemic.

In a July 31 opinion, authored by Judge Charles R. Wilson, who was joined by Judges Kevin C. Newsom and Britt Grant, the circuit court affirmed a summary judgment ruling to the University of Miami, amid allegations the school breached contract and was unjustly enriched by shutting down in-person education in response to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
