With the U.S. Supreme Court calling a wrap on oral arguments for the October 2023 term last month, litigants are jockeying for the chance to be heard by the justices during their 2024-25 court session.

At this early juncture, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear just eight cases next term, leaving plenty of room for additional grants of certiorari, or review, over the next several months. The court will likely not fill its docket completely until early January.
