Gibbons in Newark announced the combination and realignment of its business and white-collar criminal litigation practices into the Commercial and Criminal Litigation Department, which will be co-chaired by two longtime Gibbons partners: Peter J. Torcicollo, formerly of the business and commercial litigation department, and Lawrence S. Lustberg, former chair of the criminal defense department. “By streamlining the administrative function of our former Business and Commercial Litigation and Criminal Defense Departments, we are increasing efficiencies that bring savings to our clients,” said Patrick C. Dunican Jr., chairman and managing director of Gibbons, “while also widening the scope of services we can provide on demand, with little to no learning curve or ‘onramping,’ as needs arise in the course of litigation.”

Miller Rejoins Bressler Amery’s Labor and Employment Practice

Bressler, Amery & Ross announced that John D. Miller III has rejoined the firm as a partner in the labor and employment practice in Florham Park. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter and served as a practice group manager for its labor and employment group. Before that, he was at Greenberg Traurig as a senior associate. Miller was an employment litigation associate at Bressler from 2005 to 2006. He has also worked in-house as director, associate general counsel at UBS Financial Services Inc. from 2008 to 2010. Miller handles a variety of employment law matters in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies, including the EEOC, and arbitration forums including AAA, FINRA and JAMS. He has litigation and counseling experience in numerous areas of employment law, including issues involving FMLA, FLSA, ADA, restrictive covenants, noncompetition issues, harassment, discrimination, and whistleblowing. Miller received his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review, and his B.A. from the University of Central Florida. Miller said: “I welcome the challenge of now being a principal at the firm and meeting the needs of clients as Bressler continues growing.” Jed L. Marcus, co-chair of the firm’s labor and employment practice, said: “This is a busy time in employment law and John is a timely and talented addition to the practice.”
