The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed California's prohibition of sexual orientation change efforts, SB 1172, in Pickup v. Brown, No. 12-17681 (8/20/13).
Notwithstanding the Ninth Circuit's known liberal viewpoint, Pickup provides insight into the constitutionality of legislation which has created a furor in conservative circles. In particular, the Ninth Circuit opinion relies on legislative findings which the Ninth Circuit found impeachable.
