SAN FRANCISCO — The governor appointed two criminal lawyers to bench seats in San Francisco on Thursday, filling two of the court’s eight vacancies. The new judges are assistant district attorney Braden Woods, 46, and defense solo Brendan Conroy, 56.

The appointments come as the judges absorb new judicial assignments released Monday that have raised a few eyebrows.
