Many leading U.S. Supreme Court advocates are eager for the return of in-person arguments this fall, but they also hope for a few “benies” from the justices’ pandemic-era telephonic format.

“Assuming it is safe to do so, I would love to see a return to in-person arguments with live audio streaming,” said Jenner & Block partner Jessica Amunson in comments echoed by many of her colleagues, “In-person arguments have an energy and interactivity that is hard to replicate by phone. But access to real-time audio was a major benefit of telephonic arguments that I would not want to lose.”
