Attorneys who worked on the last impeachment of President Donald Trump say Congress should seriously consider passing new articles of impeachment, as a debate rages on whether to remove the president with only days left in his term.

House Democrats are hurtling toward a second impeachment of Trump, with Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying Friday that lawmakers will take up new articles if the president doesn’t immediately resign over his role in inciting a violent mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol Wednesday during the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s election win.
