Three individuals—all under the age of 22—were charged Friday for a Twitter hack that solicited more than $100,000 in bitcoin earlier this month. Mason Sheppard, 19; Nima Fazeli, 22; and a juvenile were charged in the Northern District of California and are potentially facing prison for the alleged scheme.

The July 15 scam leveraged the verified and celebrity accounts of Elon Musk, Kanye West and Bill Gates, among others, promising to double bitcoin payments sent to them.
