Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Patrick R. Kingsley served as a panelist for “Fundamentals of Construction Contracts: Understanding the Issues,” a Lorman seminar November 14 that focused on contract negotiation and construction disputes.

Kingsley is co-chair of Stradley Ronon’s construction practice group.

The Villanova Law Review Norman J. Shachoy Symposium is set from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. January 18 at Villanova University School of Law, 299 North Spring Mill Road, Villanova, Pa.

The symposium features authorities on the subject of international sales law, including Renaud Sorieul, the secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, and Keith Loken, the U.S. State Department‘s assistant legal adviser for private international law.

Volpe and Koenig contributed a $42,500 grant to the Community Design Collaborative through the city of Philadelphia’s Community Development Tax Credit Program.

The Community Design Collaborative leverages pro bono preliminary design services to community development corporations undertaking economic development activities in targeted neighborhoods of Philadelphia.

Gale White, a partner in, and chair of, White and Williams‘ insurance coverage and bad-faith practice group, is a founding member of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel.

The ACCEC was formed to improve the quality of the practice of insurance law. White is one of 14 founding members on its board of regents.

Honored

The Education Law Center of Pennsylvania honored Mary Gay Scanlon, Ballard Spahr‘s pro bono counsel, for her education advocacy work at its annual fundraiser.

Scanlon accepted the award December 5.
