Coming off of a year that had somewhat positive numbers for several key compensation metrics in Pennsylvania, in 2022 things took a slight negative turn. Some small dips and some steady numbers were reported for the highest-paid GCs in the state.

In 2021, average total cash compensation—salary, bonus and nonequity incentive plan compensation—among Pennsylvania legal department leaders saw a big jump from $829,468 in 2020 to $1,029,322 in 2021, a 24% increase. In 2022, that number dropped down a bit with an average of $880,366, a 14% decrease.
