In a personal injury case involving The Boeing Co., the Texas Supreme Court heard arguments to decide the proper application of a savings statute intended to preserve meritorious claims.

The case was before the court Tuesday because the justices accepted two certified questions from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. That court asked whether the Texas savings statute applies even though the plaintiffs could have pleaded diversity jurisdiction before the first court to see their case.
