Amid a smoking-hot legal market in Dallas, Akin Gump Hauer Strauss & Feld’s 100-lawyer office in the city has a new leader. M. Scott Barnard has replaced managing partner J. Kenneth Menges Jr., who served in that role for 17 years, the firm said Wednesday.

Menges will continue as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice.
