New Jersey’s Appellate Division is being asked to resolve a dispute over whether a construction worker seeking compensation for a jobsite injury should have to disclose his immigration status.

Weliton Dos Santos, who fell 15 feet and injured his back while constructing a Dollar General store in Toms River, New Jersey, was asked about his immigration status in a deposition after he sued Dollar General Corp., the project’s general contractor and others.
