A federal judge in New Jersey sided with attorneys at Simon & Simon and dismissed a legal malpractice lawsuit brought by a former client, who claimed counsel failed to withdraw from the case and prevented her from receiving a trial de novo after arbitration.

Karen Tucker retained the law firm to represent her in New Jersey Superior Court in a personal injury matter, which stemmed from a 2016 car accident. The case was submitted to mandatory arbitration, where Tucker was found not entitled to recover for her injuries, according to the Aug. 3 opinion.
