A construction worker who sustained neck and back injuries in a jobsite agreed to a $1.9 million settlement in his Essex County suit, Dos Santos v. Hilton Homewood Suites, and the matter was resolved on May 31.

Bruno Dos Santos was injured while working on the construction of a Hilton Homewood Suites hotel in Branchburg on Oct. 10, 2014. After he was instructed to install a rubber membrane around the windows on the second floor of the motel, he and another worker climbed into a wooden box that was lifted 12 feet by a forklift, said his attorney, Gerald H. Clark of the Clark Law Firm in Belmar.
