In response to an inquiry by the Law Journal, the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Committee on Attorney Advertising has updated its stance on New Jersey attorneys promoting the various types of recognitions we bestow each year as part of the annual New Jersey Legal Awards.

First, the upshot: The committee, as stated in its letter to us, found “that the awards conferred by ALM may, consistent with the rules governing attorney advertising, be advertised by recipients.” The letter, dated March 31, 2023, is signed by Carol Johnston, committee secretary/counsel.
