A man who suffered a damaged heart and other injuries when his car was struck from behind agreed to a $2.25 million settlement in Middlesex County suit Sosa v. Kutz on Sept. 14. Partial payment has been received in the case.

Amadeo Sosa, 62, stopped his car on the shoulder of U.S. Route 9 in Old Bridge on Dec. 18, 2018, when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Jeffrey Kutz, who was traveling at 70 mph, said plaintiffs lawyer Nicholas Leonardis of Stathis & Leonardis in Edison.
