The practice of law is a collaborative, high skill, high value profession that does not support working from home on an exclusive basis. While nearly everyone has become accustomed to the remote environment and gained valuable technological skills in the process, culture and collaboration have suffered. Working exclusively from home converts common purpose to individual purpose and breaks the connectivity teams enjoy in working to find creative solutions to complex client problems.

Certain professions are able to embrace remote work environments exclusively. However, those professions generally require minimal team work. If working remotely were optimal for the legal profession, it would not have taken the necessity of a global pandemic for all of us to work remotely. The hybrid work environment hosts a number of benefits and advantages that law firms should take into consideration.
