Mythili Raman, the acting head of the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division, will step down in March, the department announced today.

Raman has served in the Justice Department for 18 years, starting in 1996 as a trial attorney in the Criminal Division. She spent nearly a decade in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Maryland before returning to the Criminal Division in 2008.
