When the Deepwater Horizon oil rig went up in flames, dumping 210 million gallons of crude into the Gulf of Mexico, talk centered on the blowout preventer and whether it had failed. Cameron International Corp., which manufactured the device, became the target of a class action, and it turned to Beck Redden. The case is headed to trial on February 25.

"Our position is that we have a good and safe product," said name partner David Beck. "It is a blowout preventer, not a blowout stopper."
