The Senate on Monday confirmed federal prosecutor Seth Aframe to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, making it the only federal appeals court to have all of its active judges appointed by presidents of the same party.

Aframe was confirmed by a 49-40 vote and is the fourth judge named to the court by President Joe Biden, a Democrat. Aframe will fill a seat left vacant when Judge Jeffrey Howard took senior status in March 2022. Howard was the only Republican appointee on the court.
