It didn’t take long after the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear his case that Port Huron city manager James Freed started fielding offers of representation from lawyers and law firms all over the country, including several D.C. high court shops.
“They offered to take my case for free,” Freed told the National Law Journal.
