In an interview with the National Law Journal, recently retired federal appellate Judge Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. reflected on a range of topics—diversity in the legal profession, collegiality in the judiciary and what he’s looking forward to when he joins Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer in a month.

Former President Barack Obama appointed Greenaway to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 2010 after having served more than 13 years on the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Before that, he was a federal prosecutor in New Jersey and in-house counsel at Johnson & Johnson.
