As more Big Law firms signal a desire to get people back into the office, firm management is walking a fine line between how to implement and enforce office attendance policies with many lawyers still expressing a preference for some flexibility for remote work.

Most law firms with a presence in Washington, D.C., are currently operating with three days in office, though some are specifying which days and others are not, according to legal recruiters. As office attendance policies remain top of mind for law firm leaders, resistance is mounting within some in the partner ranks.
