Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson had been on a 14-case winning streak before the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling Thursday in National Pork Producers Council v. Ross. 

The newest justice found herself on the losing side of a merits decision for the first time in her high court career when the majority dismissed a challenge to a California animal welfare initiative known as Proposition 12.
