A new tool to search the financial disclosure reports of federal judges is getting praise and criticism as polls and other measuring sticks show the nation’s faith in the courts ebbing.

“Federal judges used to be considered purer than Caesar’s wife, but now people tend to be more suspicious,” said Russell Wheeler, a senior fellow at The Brookings Institution, as the nation’s view of the U.S. Supreme Court hits historic lows.
