After receiving the National Law Journal’s lifetime achievement award, attorney and former federal Judge Thomas Griffith cited his early exposure to how lawyers can serve the public as sparking his interest in the profession.

The Hunton Andrews Kurth special counsel left the bench last year following more than 15 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Since then, he has worked to dispel claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, was selected to serve on President Joe Biden’s commission looking at potential U.S. Supreme Court reforms, and introduced Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson at her historic confirmation hearing.
