Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom have each recruited senior ranking litigators from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement division, underlining the demand Washington firms are seeing for expertise in financial services and securities litigation in the current climate.

SEC assistant chief litigation counsel Christian Schultz joined Arnold & Porter on Monday as a partner in the firm’s securities enforcement and litigation practice in Washington, D.C. Separately, Anita Bandy—an associate director of the watchdog’s enforcement division—is joining Skadden on April 4 in Washington as a partner in its securities enforcement group.
