The federal judiciary announced Tuesday that 13 federal district courts will start livestreaming certain hearings in high-profile cases by February as part of a new pilot program.
The announcement comes as most federal courts are holding telephonic or videoconferences for cases during the pandemic, allowing members of the public to call into those hearings from wherever they’re located. Typically, only those in the courtroom or media rooms set up by the court could listen to the proceedings.
