Since launching in 2014, PacerPro has grown from being an overlay to download documents from the federal PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) system to being a repository for federal court data that law firms plug into the knowledge management systems and workflows. And now, the company has its eyes set on a new goal: state courts, bolstered by a newly announced $5 million investment and a new chief technology officer.

PacerPro announced Thursday it is expanding into state courts in California and New York, allowing for automated data collection and workflows in all principal New York courts and San Francisco Superior Court to begin. Following in 2022 are other major California courts and other major jurisdictions such as Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Texas and D.C., according to PacerPro chief operating officer Anna McGrane.
