In March 2019, Nnamdi Emelifeonwu and his document analysis and drafting software company Define participated in Allen & Overy’s legal tech incubator, Fuse. He worked in Allen & Overy’s London office beside fellow Fuse participants and demoed his software in multiple Allen & Overy offices and to various firm clients.

A year later, and 2019 seemed like a distant memory. By March 2020, as COVID-19 lockdowns were growing, Emelifeonwu wondered if law firms would continue their incubators in the midst of a pandemic.
