Chad Dunn became fascinated with politics as a young man. During his undergraduate days at the University of Texas at Austin, he would walk around the Texas Capitol hoping someone would offer him a job, he says.

At the time, no job materialized. But in 1997, Dunn became an intern in the Washington, D.C., office of then-U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas.
